At just 1 year old, Jennifer was abandoned and left without anyone to care for her. Her early life was filled with loneliness and uncertainty, with no safe place to call home. When Asad was 4 years old, he fell seriously ill. Though he recovered from the sickness, the treatment he received left him deaf and dumb. Losing his ability to hear and talk at such a young age was heartbreaking, and it set him apart from other children. He often felt isolated and misunderstood, struggling to adjust to a world that suddenly became silent. Through Nissi Project Uganda, Asad found hope again. With love, care, and encouraging, he is learning to communicate in new ways (sign language) and to believe in his own abilities. Today, Asad is thriving – smiling, playing, and pursuing education. His journey shows that even in the face of great challenges, every child deserves the chance to grow, belong, and dream.
