Community Transformation
Our work extends beyond the children’s home.
At Nissi Project Uganda, our calling goes beyond caring for children – its about nurturing whole communities through God’s love. We believe transformation begins when faith is lived out in action and when hope is shared from one heart to another.
Through the grace of God, we’ve witnessed lives restored, families strengthened, and communities renewed. These stories of hope are testimonies of His faithfulness – powerful reminders that when we trust in His purpose, change becomes possible, and light shines even in the darkest places.
Meet Matthew, Who Helps His Blind Mother
We give glory to God for His unfailing love and mercy. Recently, our organization had the opportunity to share God’s compassion with a crippled man from our community of operation, who has faithfully cared for his blind and widowed mother.
Life has not been easy for this family. Despite his disability, Mathew has always done his best to look after his mother, helping her move around, finding food, and making sure she is cared for. But getting from one place to another was a daily struggle for him.
Through God’s grace and the generosity of our friends, we were able to bless him with a wheelchair. The gift has restored his independence, dignity, and joy.
When receiving the wheelchair, he lifted his voice in thanksgiving and said:
“I thank God and everyone who remembered me. I will now be able to go to trading center like others do. May God bless you.’’ – Mathew
His mother, though blind, was deeply moved and expressed her gratitude with tears, saying:
“Thank you for loving my son. He is the only child I have in this world. Seeing him able to move again gives me peace and joy. May the Lord bless you for caring about us!” – Mother
It was a powerful moment, a reminder that God never forgets His children and that His love often reaches us through the hands of others. We are truly grateful to everyone who prayed, gave, and supported this act of love. Through you, God’s kindness continues to shine in our communities bringing hope, healing, and joy to those who need it most.
Meet Scovia – Her smile Restored
In a small village within our community of operation lives Scovia, a widow whose strength and courage continue to inspire everyone who meets her. Since the passing of her husband, life has been a daily battle—caring for her young granddaughter, Amina, with limited resources and no steady source of income.
When our Nissi Project Uganda team met Scovia during a recent community outreach, she shared her story with quiet tears. Providing even a single meal each day had become difficult, and sending Amina to school felt almost impossible. Yet, beneath her tired smile, there was an unshakable faith that better days could come.
That day, through God’s grace, we were able to support Scovia with a sack of food to ease her family’s hunger and scholastic materials for little Amina to continue her education. As she received the gifts, Scovia held her sack of food close and whispered, “God has not forgotten us.”
Her tears turned into a radiant smile — a smile filled with gratitude, hope, and renewed faith.
For us at Nissi Project Uganda, this moment reminded us of our calling — Restoring Hope. Transforming Lives. Through simple acts of love and compassion, we continue to witness God’s hand bringing light into the lives of families like Scovia’s.
